Live Plant Aglaonema ‘Red Siam’ Flower Houseplant Rare Garden Home Garden #MPS
Aglaonema, commonly known as Chinese Evergreen, is a popular houseplant valued for its attractive foliage and tolerance of low light conditions. Here's how to care for Aglaonema:

Light: Aglaonema can tolerate low light conditions, but it prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. Place your Aglaonema near a north or east-facing window where it can receive filtered sunlight or in a well-lit room away from direct sun.

Temperature: Aglaonema prefers temperatures between 65°F to 80°F (18°C to 27°C). It is sensitive to cold drafts, so avoid placing it near doors, windows, or air conditioning vents that might expose it to chilly air.

Watering: Allow the top inch or so of the soil to dry out between waterings. Water thoroughly, but avoid overwatering, as Aglaonema is susceptible to root rot. Ensure proper drainage by using a pot with drainage holes and emptying excess water from the saucer beneath the pot after watering.

Humidity: While Aglaonema can tolerate average indoor humidity levels, it benefits from occasional misting or placement on a humidity tray filled with water and pebbles. This helps to increase humidity around the plant, especially in drier indoor environments.

Soil: Plant Aglaonema in a well-draining potting mix rich in organic matter. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and pine bark works well. Ensure the potting mix is loose and aerated to promote healthy root growth.

Fertilizing: Feed your Aglaonema with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or stop fertilization in the fall and winter when growth slows down.

Pruning: Prune yellow or damaged leaves as needed to maintain the plant's appearance and overall health. You can also trim leggy stems to encourage bushier growth. Use clean, sharp pruning shears to make clean cuts.

Repotting: Repot your Aglaonema every 1-2 years, or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that is slightly larger than the current one and refresh the potting mix. Spring is the best time for repotting, as the plant is entering its active growing season.

Pests and Diseases: Aglaonema is relatively resistant to pests and diseases, but it can occasionally be affected by spider mites, aphids, or mealybugs. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil. Ensure good air circulation around the plant and avoid overwatering to prevent fungal diseases.

By following these care tips, you can keep your Aglaonema healthy and thriving indoors, adding beauty to your home or office space.
