She began to rake the snow around the flower and pluck thorny branches. Winter saw it. She did not want to leave and decided to destroy the flower. She blew it with a cold frosty wind and the flower froze immediately. Spring covered the flower with its palms. But she cut her finger on the thorns of the bush. A drop of hot blood flowed from Spring's finger and revived the flower. Thus, Spring defeated Winter and came into its own. And Martisors became a symbol of red blood on white snow. Since then Martisors are given to those whom we love and respect. Martisors are a symbol of joy and love for life, a symbol of the sun and spiritual purity.
