Procto-Glyvenol – Cream 30 g for the local treatment of haemorrhoids
Active substance: Tribenosidum -5 g, Lidocaini hydrochloridum monohydricum - 2 g ve 100 g
Procto-glyvenol provides rapid relief from unpleasant symptoms connected with haemorrhoids (pain, tingling, pricking, or tightness of skin). Does not affect the central nervous system or heart function.
Procto-Glyvenol: Tribenoside, a synthetic compound belonging to the group of glucofuranosides, and lidocaine, local anaesthetic, bring a rapid relief of unpleasant symptoms connected with haemorrhoids (pain, tingling, pricking, feeling of tight skin) that are usually caused by a secondary inflammation of the anorectal area. A healing effect of Procto-Glyvenol in patients with haemorrhoids is guaranteed due to its specific activity – first, owing to its ability to decrease permeability of walls of the smallest vessels and to increase the vessel wall tension – and second, owing to its local anti-inflammatory effect and owing to its action against various substances which originate in the inflammatory tissue and which take a joint effect in development of inflammation and pain. The lidocaine component helps to relieve pain quickly. As Procto-Glyvenol is aimed to reach a local effect, it is desirable for the absorption of the active substance tribenoside into the body to be as lowest as possible. Approximately 2-20% of tribenoside will be absorbed by the skin from the cream. After absorption tribenoside is subjected to an intensive metabolism in the body and the substances created in this way are excreted into urine. Lidokaine is absorbed in a very small amount and does affect neither the central nervous system, nor the heart function.
Procto-Glyvenol is indicated for external and internal hemorrhoids.
Procto-Glyvenol helps moisturize any dry skin and relieves the itching, pain and irritation associated with haemorrhoids/piles, general rectal inflammation (proctitis), itching around the back passage (pruritis ani) or lesions in the anal canal (anal fissures). Procto-Glyvenol has a local anaesthetic so it numbs and soothes the back passage. Procto-Glyvenol can be used externally as a cream or internally by using the applicator included with the pack.
Procto-Glyvenol is well tolerated. In isolated cases, a slight burning sensation, pain, or increased intestinal motility have been reported following use of the cream or suppositories.
Like any drug, Procto-Glyvenol should be employed with caution during pregnancy, especially in the first 3 months. It is not known whether the active substances pass into the breast milk. The benefits for the mother must be weighed against the risk to the child.

Protect from heat. Store below 30°C .
