Title: Processes and Materials of Manufacture
Author: Roy A. Lindberg
Format: Hardcover
Publisher: Allyn and Bacon, Inc. 1964
LCCN: 64-14558
Size: 6.75 X 9.5 X 1.75 * 884 pages
Synopsis: PREFACE: Recent years have brought the most rapid technological advance the world has ever seen. It becomes increasingly difficult to be informed in all the important areas of manufacture. This book leads the reader from an understanding of basic operations to a discussion of recent developments in numerical control as applied to machines; metal fabricating with structural adhesives; the application of ultrasonics for cleaning, welding, and cutting metal; high-energy-rate forming methods such as explosive, spark, and magnetic forming.
It is the purpose of this book not only to give the reader a knowledge of important areas of production processes that deal with metal and plastics, but also to help him understand some of the basic principles and theory.
Those who are unfamiliar with this field will be introduced, in rapid succession, to many new concepts. Every effort has been made to clarify each of these concepts by carefully selected schematic diagrams, line drawings, and meaningful photographs.
The subjects have been carefully organized to present a brief overview of the items covered before the more detailed discussion is given. Careful study of this book will aid in making process and equipment selection. Wherever feasible, advantages and disadvantages are pointed out. Summary charts are used not only as an aid in organizing the material but also for process comparison and selection.
Overall Condition: Good + It has very minimal wear to the cover and no holes or tears. The dust jacket is not included. The binding has minimal wear.
