Talcid is an over-the-counter medicinal product. Talcid contains the active ingredient hydrotalcite and can be taken by adults and children over 12 years of age for the symptomatic treatment of disorders in which hyperacidity is present, such as complaints related to increased acidity, gastro-oesophageal reflux (GER), acute and chronic gastritis, gastric or duodenal ulcer. Available in a pack of 20 chewable tablets.
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
For symptomatic treatment of:
Acidity and complaints related to increased acidity: 500-1000 mg hydrotalcite as needed. The total daily dose of 6000 mg of hydrotalcite should not be exceeded.
Gastroesophageal reflux (GER), acute and chronic gastritis: 500-1000 mg hydrotalcite 1-2 hours after meals, at bedtime and when symptomatic complaints appear. The total daily dose of 6000 mg of hydrotalcite should not be exceeded.
Stomach or duodenal ulcer: 1000 mg hydrotalcite 3-4 times a day after meals, at bedtime. The total daily dose of 6000 mg of hydrotalcite should not be exceeded. Treatment should continue for at least 4 weeks after the first resolution of symptoms.

Do not use Talcid:
if you are allergic to hydrotalcite or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
with severely impaired renal function (creatinine clearance
