Mepilex Ag Antimicrobial soft silicone dressing for superficial burns, ulcers, bedsores and other wounds with a risk of infection.
Mepilex Ag is a soft and comfortable antimicrobial foam dressing that absorbs exudate and maintains a moist wound healing environment. The dressing does not adhere to the wound bed, only to the dry surrounding skin, so the wound is not traumatized and the patient is not pained during dressing changes. By reducing the number of microorganisms, Mepilex Ag can reduce wound odor. Can be trimmed.
USE
Mepilex Ag is indicated for the care of low to moderately exuding wounds: leg and foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, superficial burns. As the dressing maintains a moist wound environment, initial wound enlargement may be observed when the dressing is first used. This is normal and to be expected.
Instructions for use
It is very important to observe hygiene requirements before and during dressing the wound.
1. Wash the wound with wound irrigation solution or water according to normal clinical practice.
2. Dry the surrounding skin thoroughly.
3. Remove the protective film of the dressing and place the adhesive side on the wound. Do not stretch.
4. Mepilex Ag should cover approximately 2 cm of healthy skin. If necessary, the dressing can be cut into smaller pieces, depending on the size and location of the wound.
5. If necessary, fix the dressing additionally.
Precautions
• Cannot be administered to patients with known sensitivity to silver
• Do not use the dressing if you are having radiation therapy or related tests, such as X-rays, ultrasound, diathermy tests, or magnetic resonance imaging
• Mepilex Ag cannot be used together with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solution, hydrogen peroxide solution
• For external use only
• Mepilex Ag can cause changes in the pigmentation of the wound and surrounding skin
• In case of infection, Mepilex Ag cannot replace the need for systemic therapy or other infectious treatment
• Sterility is guaranteed as long as the inner packaging of the bandage is intact. Do not repeat sterilization
Mepilex Ag contains 1.2 mg/cm2 of silver. Mepilex Ag is made of soft silicone, silver-infused polyurethane foam and a polyurethane film.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Store in a dry, dark place, out of the reach of children below 25°C / 77°F.
