Natural alder cones for aquarium decor

Alder cones are a great natural remedy for your aquarium. They release tannins and humic acids that gently lower the pH level, soften the water, and act as a natural antiseptic against bacteria and fungi. They are especially useful for shrimp, catfish and fish that come from tropical waters. Benefits for the aquarium Water disinfection: Natural protection against infections and fungal diseases of eggs or fish. Improvement of conditions: Creating an environment similar to natural tropical reservoirs. Feed additive: Shrimp and some species of catfish enjoy eating the surface of the cones. Light color: The water may acquire a light tea tint due to the release of beneficial substances. How to use correctly Dosage: Usually take 5–10 pieces per 100 liters of water (or 1 cone per 10 liters for small shrimp farms). Preparation: Before throwing the cones into the aquarium, it is advisable to pour boiling water over them to disinfect. Replacement: The active substances are released in about 3–4 weeks, after which the cones can be replaced with new ones or left as an element of decor.
