The mezuzah shown here has a motif of the Seven Species as mentioned in the bible. The actual mezuzah is the piece of parchment contained in a decorative case inscribed with specified Hebrew verses from the Torah (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and 11:13-21). We sell the decorative case ONLY. The case is hollowed out and the scroll can be inserted inside.
This is hand painted by the Jerusalem artist Emanuel with brush and acrylic paint. Then several layers of lacquer are applied making it possible to wash with water.
A mezuzah is affixed to the doorframe of Jewish homes to fulfill the mitzvah (Biblical commandment) to inscribe the words of the Shema "on the doorposts of your house."(Deuteronomy 6:9).
The mezuzah is signed by Emanuel.
