VINTAGE TURKISH GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL USE STAMPS

These stamps were used for payment for filing the official paperwork. (Payment for governments business)

All out of circulation. Four stamps

1 kurus stamp (light blue) printed at Ajans Turk in Ankara probably at 1967 with a monochrome design showing a Selcuk Empire Cini on it. Cini is a Turkish art form made with monochrome (mostly blue) painting on ceramic.

15 kurus stamp (dark blue) printed at Guzel Sanatlar Matbaasi in Istanbul probably at some time mid 20th century (about late 1960s) with a monochrome design drawn on it.

50 kurus stamp (two tone blue) printed at Basin Ofset in Ankara at 1983 with a design a clasical tulip design drawn on it. The tulip design is quite popular in Turkish art and may be related to the popularity of the flower during the Ottoman Empire's Tulip Era (1718-1730).

300 kurus stamp (pink and blue) at Basin Ofset in Ankara at 1987 with a design quite popular in Turkish art.

Kurus was worth 100th of a Turkish Lira (TL) before the removal of the 6 zeros from the end to start the new lira. It has been long out of circulation.
