What a lovely dress! It's perfect for any occasion from "just dressed up" to "making an entrance." Done in black silk by Papell Boutique Evening, the entire top with its bit of a scooped neckling, short sleeves, and long waistline that dips in a sweet curve both front and back, is beaded all over with black bugle beads. This gives a subtle sparkle as you move... just right!
The skirt is silk chiffon with a rolled hem that makes the cut flippy and saucy at the same time. The dress is lined throughout for stability.
The bustline measures 18" at the underarms lying flat; the bodice tapers from there to about 14-1/2" lying flat measured on the side seams at the bottom of edge of the sequin top. The dress measures 34" from the top edge of zipper to hem.
This came from the estate of a woman who had lovely clothing and exquisite taste. I really can't tell that this dress has ever been worn...it shows no signs of it. Since the Papell label is a current label, this little dress is probably not vintage...but oh, does it ever need a place to shine! It's bound to become a classic favorite!
