This is a very easy hat to crochet.
Here is a fun pattern to crochet for teens or adults called the Sock Monkey Hat with Earflaps and Braids. It is a novelty hat shaped like a sock monkey. It is crocheted using worsted weight yarn. You may make it with or without the ear flaps. Make the sock monkey with a mohawk by adding a fringe of yarn "hair."
Pattern is easy to read, with step by step instructions. Size Teen and Adult. Hat measures 21-22 inches around head when finished.
