Up for sale is a very rare Monkey cookie jar
"JOCKO"
It was manufactured by Robinson Ransbottom Pottery company in Roseville,Ohio
This piece of memorabilia was given to a family member in the mid to late50's . It was handed it down to me and I wrapped it in cloth and put it high in my cupboard and forgot about it.
During a recent cleaning I found it again and realized that someone would appreciate it more than I.
There are no spidering,chips,cracks or any blemishes on this item. As it was close over 60 years ago .
Excellent condition
Never used.
Insurance would be advisable for this item.
I have noticed on different sites that several Jocko's are shown with vibrant rosey red cheeks and bright red lips. Kind of like Jocko in drag. ...or Uncle Miltie. Perhaps it was a different production run or someone going goofy with the makeup applications ...regardless, this is an original piece, not a reproduction, with the colors as they were, when it was put it the kiln, I would think...no fading, stored in the dark away from direct light for six decades.
