3 feet healthy root section. This bamboo makes a wonderful natural screen. A living fence. Another name for this variety of bamboo is called fishing pole because of its zigzaging nodes at the base of some the culms, forming a handle for a fishing pole. Grows to about 30' with 1-1/2" diameter culms. Cold hardy to below 0 degree F. Scientific name is Phyllostachys Aurea. You can plant directly in the ground or a long planter. Grows taller and wider each year.

The bamboo rhizome looked healthy on arrival. Though it hasn't started shooting yet, it's still early in the season. I'm hopeful for its growth and it seems to be a good quality plant. Just need some patience to see how it develops.
