Embroidered linen table mat thatched cottage antique hc1174

This oval table mat is made of linen in light flax and embroidered with a thatched country cottage in a flower garden. Foreground flowers are large and satiny. Lots of wonderful embroidered details. The edge is hand crocheted in shells that are blanket-stitched to the linen. Condition is immaculate. It is 11 x 16 inches.

This is part of a lot of small antique linens. The pieces are from the earliest years of the 20th century. Most are created from the same linen, using the same color schemes and certainly they look to have been done by the same hand.
