A very feminine scarf from another century. This scarf is made of stripes of pale gray, almost pearl, satin on pale pink chiffon with a bit of body to it. The gray stripes have flowing scrolling designs embroidered on it. Very pretty.
The scarf is 13 x 50 inches long and was made in Switzerland. It is in very good condition for its age which I judge to be about 70 plus years. I'm not sure if this is silk or very early nylon. The self fringe and satin feels like silk but the pink feels more like nylon or rayon.
This is a very old scarf and has had extensive use. It has no damage but buy with the knowledge it looks like a used scarf. This is for the person who enjoys period dressing or the costume department of a theatrical society. It might also interest crafters wanting unusual fabrics to work with.
