This sweet piece, another from the estate of the eclectic collector, is from the Hingeco line; they add to their logo that it's Made in the USA. Good for them! If my research is correct, a lot of their compacts date from the 1940's; this one is not only in excellent condition, it doesn't look as if it has ever been used!
The top seems to have a slightly deeper gold colored finished that accents the raised heart/arrow in the upper corner. There are 2 black enamel stripes to balance in the lower corner. On the inside there is just a smidgen of aging showing in the bottom curve of the mirror, the puff is new and unused, and the powder compartment is in pristine condition.
The bottom side is textured, perhaps for a bit of stability? Interestingly enough it measures about 2-3/4" both across and lengthwise. It's 1/2" in depth.
This little bit of the past is definitely ready to start a new life...it doesn't look as if it has ever had a chance to be a "star!" Until now!
