SJVW Final Paper The purpose of this final assignment is to strengthen yourunderstanding of a key social justice movement and then to apply your learningfrom that movement to potential change that you envision in yourcommunity.  This is a 2 part assignment. Part 1:Research one social justice movement that has madesignificant historical impact either nationally or internationally (Labormovement, Women’s Suffrage, Voting Rights, Abolition of Slavery, etc).  You must have your social movement approved by the instructor.  In part one of the assignment you will delveinto the details of the movement.  Thissection must include all of the following information: 1.    Who were the key players in the movement?2.    What was the central focus of change that wasbeing fought for?3.    What were the biggest obstacles that those inthe movement encountered?4.    How were these obstacles overcome (or werethey)?5.    What are the lasting impacts of this socialmovement please include systems and policy changes in this section.  Part 2:The second part of the assignment is a chance to becreative.  Please consider how themovement you are researching has directly impacted you and your community andinclude the following pieces in your essay: 1.    How has your life been directly/indirectlyimpacted by the movement?  2.    How do you envision that your life would bedifferent if this social movement had not occurred?3.    How has your community been directly/indirectlyimpacted by the movement?4.    What else needs to happen in your community tocontinue the legacy of this social movement? Please consider policies that need to be put in place, institutions thatneed to be supported, ideas and voices that need to be uplifted. This is an 8-10 page paper. It should be double spaced and use 12 point font.  You must include a minimum of 6 academicsources (peer reviewed journals, .gov/.edu sites, primary sources, newsarticles).  You must include a coverpage, abstract, and reference page, these pages are not included in the finalpage length.
