He was a driving force behind establishing of the Grand Prix Drivers Association. An advisor to the 1966 Movie “Grand Prix” starring James Garner. As a Sports Car Driver he won the 1960 Targa Florio with Hans Hermann; the 1962 12 Hours Of Sebring with Lucien Bianchi; the 1963 Targa Florio with Carlo Mario Abate; the 1964 event at Montlhéry,, the 1964 12 Hour race at Reims. His last victory was with Graham Hill at the 1000km Nurburgring. He died as a result of an accident at Le Mans. Christabel Carlisle: Female auto racer who competed in Sports and Saloon Cars, Rally Cars and Endurance races.
