1797 Antique Print of Old Leighlin Church, County Carlow Ireland ,Ireland. The Cathedral Church of St Laserian is one of Ireland’s smallest cathedrals and is said to have been founded in the 12th century.
On the print the actual spelling is County Carlo rather than Carlow.
There is an engraver’s signature on the bottom right, Barrett, most likely refering to G Barrett and engraver who was active at that time.
The engraving is dated as published by S Hooper in Holborn, London in 1792 , however these works where not actually published until 1797.
The engraving is in an impressed area size of 8 by 6 inches with the engraving measuring 6 1/2 inches by 4 3/4 inches. The overall paper size is 13 by 9 inches.
The engraving is in good condition, the impressed area is largely clear, there is age related foxing and toning on the paper, please see pictures.
