Chaw Mank's Blue Ribbon Music Company, Staunton, Illinois, produced this original rare sheet music as a tribute to fallen movie idol Jean Harlow (1911-1937) in 1938.
"A New Star Shines in Heaven" features Harlow prominently at top, with smaller photos of Joan Crawford, Bing Crosby, Robert Taylor, Joe Penner, Dick Powell, Nelson Eddy, et al.
Nice thicker stock paper in sepia blue. Probably less than 500 sheets were produced. Found in an old storage trailer and saved from an inglorious fate in the landfill!
In unused near mint/mint condition.
This item comes directly from the estate of Charles "Chaw" Mank Jr. (1902-1985), noted songwriter, author, bandleader, record producer, sheet music publisher, psychic, radio personality, silent movie theater organist, world champion pen pal, inveterate collector and Hollywood/music fan club pioneer. Mr. Mank was one of Jean Harlow's biggest boosters and corresponded with both Jean and her mother Mama Jean.
