The Ring of the Niblung has 48 stunning Arthur Rackham colour illustrations.  An important and impressive Arthur Rackham illustrated book.

This large illustrated book is divided into three parts:

Part 1 The Rhinegold,
Part 2 The Valkyrie, and
Part 3 Siegfried and The Twilight of the Gods.  
The Ring of the Niblung original blue-green cloth binding has lettering and decorations to the front board and spine in black. The binding is in Very Good condition with small marks, discolouration to the spine, and corner knocks.  The wear is consist with a book of this age and is still extremely attractive.

The Ring of the Niblung has 158 numbered pages for The Rhinegold and The Valkyrie, and 181 numbered pages for Siegfried and the Twilight of the Gods. There are 24 Arthur Rackham colour plate illustrations for the combined Parts 1 and 2 and 24 Arthur Rackham colour plate illustrations for Part 3. Arthur Rackham The Ring of the Niblung  has a total of 48 stunning Arthur Rackham colour plate illustrations with numerous additional vignettes. The front endpapers and rear endpapers have an attractive green decoration on a white background.

The pages are in overall Very Good condition with only the lightest of age toning to the margins (barely noticeable), only the very occasional and lightest of spotting (very sparse), a small retailer’s label to the bottom edge of the front pastedown, and an inscription in a neat hand to one of the front blank preliminary pages dated 1939.  Internally this Arthur Rackham illustrated book is extremely attractive.
